That's one of the things about people knowing you're a writer - you're suddenly really easy to buy presents for, as everybody just goes with a pretty notebook! :D

The two reasons you have your notebooks are essentially the same as mine, only I put it all into whichever book I'm using at that moment. I guess they're more useful if, like me, you tend to like handwriting things before typing them up. A lot of writers go straight to a computer document, but I find it helps me hash out an idea to physically write it (and re-write it) first, then type it up in a much clearer version.

You could always use your notebooks to do characters studies, character questionnaires, mind-maps, etc.
